For over 40 years, Hamstra Heating & Cooling has been a dedicated neighbor and a proud part of the Tucson and Southern Arizona community. We are a family-owned business built on the values of trust, quality service, and a deep commitment to the safety and comfort of everyone in the Old Pueblo and surrounding areas.

In honor of Veterans Day 2025, Hamstra Heating & Cooling is proud to announce our annual Veterans Day Furnace Giveaway. This initiative is dedicated exclusively to U.S. military veterans who have served our country.

We are asking the Southern Arizona community to nominate a deserving veteran to receive a complimentary, fully installed high-efficiency furnace. This is a small token of our gratitude for their immense service and sacrifice for our nation.

Submission Period: Nominations are open from November 1 through November 15, 2025.

Nominee Eligibility and Requirements

To be eligible for this giveaway, the nominee must be a U.S. military veteran and meet the following criteria:

  • Residence: The nominated veteran must be a current permanent resident in our Southern Arizona service area. (We will not install outside of our current service areas.)
  • Property Type: The nominee must live in a residential home. No commercial buildings or apartments.
  • Home Ownership: The nominee must provide evidence of home ownership.
  • Current System: The nominee must have a current HVAC system (furnace or heat pump) in their home, not a swamp cooler (evaporative cooler).
  • Inspection Access: Hamstra Heating & Cooling or its representatives will need adequate access to inspect the residence to determine the need for and suitability of the replacement equipment if selected.

Installation Availability and Tax Responsibility

  • If selected, the nominated veteran must be available during the period of November 11 to December 31 for the furnace installation.
  • If selected as a recipient, the nominee is solely responsible for reporting and paying any federal, state, provincial, and local taxes on receipt and use of the equipment.

Selection Process and Criteria

The Hamstra Heating & Cooling team will review each nomination to ensure eligibility and select a recipient based on a combination of factors:

  • Need and Suitability: The necessity for and suitability of installing a new furnace to provide a habitable home.
  • Proximity: Proximity to and appropriateness for our dealer service area.
  • Nominations: Number of nominations received from different, unrelated nominators.
  • Community Impact: Significance of community impact made by the nominee.
  • Financial Hardship: Degree of financial hardship.
